Fiber Optics Technician Outside Plant

The Fiber Optics Outside plant course was created for workers and technicians with fundamental fiber optic knowledge and focuses specifically on FTTx and HFC to teach attendees to apply critical issues such as take rate and density to outside plant design.

This course covers the understanding of passive optical networks (PON), how to skillfully perform fusion splice, splice closures and FDH preparation with proper fiber management at the splice tray, it also entails working knowledge and proper use of an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR). Such as the troubleshooting and complete analysis of FTTx access and backhaul network during construction.

This course is designed for technicians and engineers working in and around the Outside Plant environment.
